1ST ANNUAL SEATTLE 2014 PIPEMASTERS COLLAB
The Stars of the functional glass art scene collide.
Chief Cottonmouth co sponsored the 1ST Annual Pipe Masters Collab held at 7 Point Studios in Seattle WA. Pipe Masters Collab was the coming together of the nations leading functional glass artists in an epic 10 day event. Artists from across the US and Canada under one roof to push their talents and that of their peers.
There was a buzz of excitement and uncertainty in the air as the first of the artists began to show up to 7 point Studios. Artists such as 7 point studios own Nate Dizzle, Jolex, Lurch, Amber Pellegrini, Royal, MNP, Kevin Nail, Dosher and Marcel were some of the first to set it off.
It was quickly apparent that comradery between the artists was setting the stage for unique never before done collaborations. With no real agenda, the artist were free to act at will collaborating with who ever they wanted to. As the week progressed more and more artists showed up, each contributing their own unique style to glass pieces at random.
I had my sights set on numerous magnificent pieces of art, one of which being this Marcel Braun and Matt Robertson collab. The Retti air trap encalmo of Marcel with the signature giraffe sculpting of Matt Robertson had me sold, this one was coming home. Check out more images here.
